the impulse to nurture and soothe ourselves with food begins at birth. The drive comes from a deep and wise survival instinct that connects nourishment with safety and touch and support from our primary caregiverS.

As we grow older, when we do not feel safe and supported in our lives or relationships, our bodies remind us that feeding was once a very reliable way to get these very valid and human needs met. but when this effort fails to meet the underlying need, we find ourselves consumed with shame and self-reproach for our relationship with food. We seek more comfort, so we again attempt again to use food and substances like alcohol, and caffeine- and the cycle is set in motion.

Symptoms of dis-ease begin to appear; weight gain, hormone imbalance, sleep disturbances, sluggishness, anxiety, depression, apathy, and a myriad of health issues ranging from diabetes to cardiovascular disease may begin to emerge.

our doctors can MEDICATE THE SYMPTOMS with countless pharmaceuticals. WE can go through endless rounds of fad DIETs and exercise regimens. And we often find that nothing works- any Changes we make seem to not last.

Breathing room for wellness

Food is medicine. Powerful medicine. The foods you crave and choose to eat will directly impact your mental, emotional and physical health. And the opposite is true too. Your mental, emotional and physical state will drive your cravings and lifestyle choices. Together, with curiosity and a sense of adventure, we will explore your unique needs and desires so that you can design a life that reflects your highest intentions and your best self.

Food is medicine. And yet, experiencing true wellness- living from a place of vitality and clarity- requires looking at so much more than “just” your diet.

Using Somatic Experiencing based inquiry and tools, we will work directly with your nervous system to resolve unprocessed emotions, physiology, and experiences that lie at the root of your patterns. By starting with your nervous system and by honoring the signals and sensations in your body (signals you may become aware of for the first time ever during our work together), we begin to heal at the deepest layers so that the changes you imagine for yourself begin to emerge organically- free from the will power/shame cycle.

We are going on a journey of discovery of you! This journey is about so much more than what you eat- and we will look at every aspect of your life to establish a sense of where you are starting from and where you want to go.

The Process

A complimentary consult is the place to start. We will explore your goals and my approach to decide if the process feels right to you. Coaching is offered over the course of a six-month commitment between the two of us. Every coaching course is highly personalized. There is no “formula” that I follow, as the entire experience is rooted in our excavation and honoring of your truest parts.

However, all coaching relationships will include:

  • A bespoke plan, based on your personal goals, created in partnership at our first session.

  • Weekly or biweekly meetings (depending on the plan we establish for your needs) wherein we check your progress along the way and set realistic action steps that will find you always making steady measurable changes.

  • Somatic Experiencing exercises and take-home tools to empower you between sessions (these are the keys to making REAL changes that last).

  • A spirit of abundance! I will always encourage you to eat MORE, not less… there is no place for hunger, rigid dieting, or deprivation of any kind when it comes to true health and wellness.

  • Playing with your food. With the spirit of curious toddlers, we will try new things. We will often not like these new things. But we will also often discover tastes and textures and recipes and habits that we love and adopted into our lives seamlessly.

  • Learning how to identify the foods that make provide the physical and emotional nourishment that you really crave so that you easily incorporate them into your daily life.

  • Digestible education about food, household, and environmental toxins that may be impacting your physical and mental health, and tools for simple lifestyle upgrades that protect you from harm.

  • The opportunity to add on additional myofascial release, yoga, or Somatic Experiencing sessions to even further enhance your progress and process.
